SmartGroups Overview Reference

Date

Description

Name

Unique name for the SmartGroup.

Refetch Cloud Resources

Retrieves the latest resource information from your cloud service providers (CSPs).

Resource Type

Network resources to be included as part of the SmartGroup.

A resource type can be virtual machine, a subnet, a VPC/VNet, IP/CIDR, or external connection.

You can only select an External Connection Resource Type if the Enforcement on External Connections option (on the DCF Settings tab) is enabled.

A resource can be specified by the IP address or CIDR of the resource or specified matching criteria on any property for the resource type.

Resource-type based SmartGroups are only supported on public AWS, Azure, and GCP clouds. Other clouds must use the IP address or CIDR to specify the resource.
