Enabling Two AZ HA for FQDN Gateways

If you enabled Transit Egress for a Transit Gateway, you can enable HA for that gateway on the Cloud Fabric > Gateways > Specialty Gateways tab:

  1. On the Specialty Gateways tab, click the Edit icon edit icon next to a gateway that has 'fqdn' in its name.

  2. Click + Instance and select a subnet (a public subnet for AWS, GCP, and OCI) in the second Attach to Subnet dropdown menu.

  3. Click Save.

For FQDN function, the primary gateway and backup gateway load balance the Internet bound traffic from different subnets based on a route table.
