Setting a Minimum Entity Count for an Alert

You can set a minimum count of matching entities (gateways) for an alert. CoPilot considers the minimum count for triggering the alert.

The minimum count is the number of gateways that meet the configured alert-trigger conditions at the same time. CoPilot only triggers the alert when this number is reached.

The minimum count can be equal to or higher than 1.

For an alert configuration, if you set the minimum count of matching entities to be higher than the number of entities being monitored, no alerts will be triggered.

To see the total number of gateways being monitored, click in the Gateways selection field and scroll to the bottom of the list. Or, see the table on Cloud Fabric > Gateways > Gateway Management.

All gateway metrics support the option of modifying the minimum count of matching entities. Controller and CoPilot metrics have a minimum count of 1, which cannot be modified.

Although you can set a minimum count of matching entities for the Global Network Health and Global Memory Swap Surge alerts, you may want to keep the count low since these alerts can indicate a problem with your network that must be addressed in a timely manner.
