About Gateway Resource Tags

A resource tag is a key:value pair. Resource tags allow you to tag your cloud resources, which you can use to identify and manage your resources. In Aviatrix, resource tags are supported for Aviatrix gateways created in AWS and Azure clouds.

There are two types of resource tags: system and custom.

Aviatrix uses system resource tags to identify and manage Aviatrix gateways. When you create an Aviatrix gateway, the gateway is assigned a default system resource tag. You cannot edit or delete system resource tags.

You can add additional custom resource tags for your own business purposes. For example, custom resource tags can be used for automation scripts or to track resources for different teams in your organization for billing or cost purposes.

Create Custom Resource Tags for a Gateway

  2. Scroll down to the Resource Tags section and click + Resource Tag.

  3. Enter a key to identify the resource and a value for the Key. The Key must be unique.

  4. Click the checkmark icon to add the key:value pair to the resource tags.
