Viewing Alert Notifications

You can view all Aviatrix platform triggered alerts in a central place with search and filter capability.

To view an alert notification:

  1. In CoPilot, go to Monitor > Notifications.

  2. Click Alerts.

  3. From the Alerts list, locate the alert you want to view.

    If you know the name of the alert, type it in the Search box to find it.

  4. Click the Columns icon to show or hide columns in the Alerts list.

    The following columns can be displayed:

    Column Name Description

    Name

    The name assigned to the alert.

    State

    Indicates whether the alert is Open or Closed.

    Affected Entities

    The type of entity affected by the alert, such as a gateway, interfaces, Controller, and CoPilot.

    Condition

    Lists the conditions that triggered the alert.

    First Received

    The date and time when the alert was first received.

    Last Received

    How long it has been since the alert was last received, in hours, days, weeks, months, or years.

    Read

    Whether or not the alert has been read.

    Actions

    Displays action icons to mark an alert as read or delete an alert.

  5. From the Actions menu, you can perform the following:

    • Mark as Read

    • Mark as Unread

    • Delete Alerts

      These actions can be performed on multiple alerts at once. Select the alerts you want to perform the action on, then select the action from the Actions menu.

  6. Click the down arrow in the Views field to select one of the following:

    • All Alerts

    • Open Alerts

    • Unread Alerts

    • Manage Views

  7. Click the alert Name to analyze alert details in a side panel.

    In the panel, you can do the following:

    • Click Resolve to mark the alert as resolved.

      The alert is moved to the Closed state and the Open badge is removed from the alert.

    • Click the Read icon to mark the alert as read or unread.

    • Click the Delete icon to delete the alert.

    • View the following fields:

      Column Name Description

      Entities

      The types of entities affected by the alert, such as a gateway, interfaces, Controller, and CoPilot.

      Conditions

      Lists the conditions that triggered the alert.

      Evaluation Period

      The time period during which the alert was evaluated.

      Recipients

      The email addresses of the recipients to whom the alert was sent.

    • On the Timeline tab, view the timeline of the alert, including when it was created, when it was resolved, and so forth.

      • Click an item in the timeline to view more details.

    • On the Performance tab, view a chart of the performance over time related to the alert metric.

      • If multiple alerts were received or multiple entities are affected, you can modify the chart by selecting a different alert date or entity type.

      • If the View More option displays, you can click it to navigate to another page in the UI with further details related to the alert.
