Rollback the Gateway Software

Overview

To roll back the gateway software to a previous version, please note the following information:

  • It is important to understand that you can only rollback gateway software upgrades, not platform Controller, CA Access Gateway (CAAG), or CloudN upgrades.

  • Proceed with caution when using the Gateway Software Rollback feature.

  • If you have encountered issues or failures during the gateway upgrade, it is strongly recommended to open a ticket with Aviatrix Support at https://support.aviatrix.com for assistance.

Please follow these guidelines for the gateway software rollback:

  • Be aware that gateway software rollbacks can cause brief disruptions because the gateway is replaced.

  • During the rollback process, the gateway image version may also change.

  • If the gateway you wish to rollback is running the same image version before and after the upgrade, the system will create a new gateway with the same image but the older software version.

Steps of the Gateway Software Rollback

To perform a gateway image rollback, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the gateway image upgrade menu:

    • From Controller UI > SETTINGS > Maintenance > Upgrade > Selective Gateway Upgrade

    • From CoPilot UI > Gateways > Gateway Management.

  2. From Gateway Rollback (CoPilot UI) or SOFTWARE ROLLBACK (Controller UI), carefully select the gateways that you want to rollback. The system will automatically choose the compatible gateway image version based on the current software version of the platform controller.

  3. Click Rollback and closely monitor the progress in the status window. The upgrade process may take some time to complete.

  4. After the rollback is finished, verify the gateway software version by reviewing the gateway information in the "Current Software Version" column.
