Maintenance Windows

Aviatrix PaaS provides the ability to create a maintenance window that allows you to determine when updates to Aviatrix gateways should occur. You can modify the maintenance window options from the Maintenance card in Settings.

Maintenance Window Overview

Maintenance updates are required and are scheduled on a regular basis for Aviatrix updates. Any available update not completed within a week might be forced.

When selecting the schedule for a maintenance window, the day and time are configured according to the time zone set in your user preferences. The default is the time zone of your browser.

Urgent unscheduled updates might occasionally be required, such as addressing CVEs. In these circumstances, Aviatrix might need to perform updates outside the scheduled maintenance window.

Approximately 10 minutes before the start of a maintenance, information displays in the Upcoming Maintenance field on the Maintenance card, letting users know a maintenance is about to begin.

Aviatrix PaaS is not available while maintenance is being performed, so users will not be able to access Aviatrix Platform during maintenance.

A minimum of 4 hours each week should be scheduled for the length of a maintenance window. A maintenance event can begin at any time after the selected time and within the maintenance window length.

However, Aviatrix Platform is not available only during the actual time it takes for the update to complete. If a maintenance is not finished within the scheduled window, the update will continue until it completes.

Configure a Maintenance Window

You can set the date, time, and length of the maintenance window for updates to Aviatrix Platform. This allows you to choose days and times that are convenient, such as off-peak hours for your business.

For more information about maintenance windows for updates, see Maintenance Window Overview.

To configure a maintenance window, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings > Maintenance and click Manage.
