Setting up Accounts for Edge Platforms
Before you can deploy an Edge Gateway, you must set up an account for the Edge platform where you want to deploy the gateway. Aviatrix CoPilot uses this account to access the Edge platform to onboard edge devices and deploy Aviatrix Edge Gateways.
For information about the supported platforms, see What edge platforms are supported?
Aviatrix Edge Platform Account
When deploying Edge Gateways on edge devices in on-premises environments, you need to set up an account for the Aviatrix Edge Platform.
Setting up an account for the Aviatrix Edge Platform allows Aviatrix Controller to register with the Aviatrix Edge infrastructure for managing and onboarding edge devices and Edge Gateways.
Network Service Provider Platform Account
When deploying Edge Gateways on the Equinix Network Edge or Megaport Virtual Edge, you need to set up a network service provider account on the Aviatrix Platform.
Aviatrix CoPilot uses this account to access the network service provider platform to provision the edge virtual device and deploy Aviatrix Edge Gateways.
Self Managed Platform Account
When deploying Edge Gateways in customer managed ESXi and KVM environments, the default account, edge_admin, is automatically created in Aviatrix CoPilot for Self Managed Platform.
