Upgrade your Controller Image via CoPilot UI (AWS)
The Aviatrix multicloud networking platform is delivered via two images, a Controller image and a gateway image. To ensure optimal security and performance, it is crucial to keep both images up to date.

Before Upgrading Your Controller Image
You need to perform the following tasks before you upgrade your Controller image:

Back up your existing Controller. From your CoPilot UI, go to Settings > Maintenance > Back Up & Restore > Backup Controller. Click Back Up Now.

(Optional) Obtain your Customer ID. If you plan to switch your Aviatrix license, ensure you have your Customer ID available. You will need to enter it during the upgrade process.
Upgrading Your Controller Image via CoPilot UI

Log into your CoPilot UI.

Go to Settings > Maintenance > Upgrade > Upgrade Controller Image.

Click Upgrade.

In the open window, select the desired instance size from the drop-down menu. If you are switching your Aviatrix license from any license to Aviatrix Cloud Network Controller, enter your Customer ID.

Click Upgrade to confirm the image upgrade process.
Migrating your Controller does not impact your network data plane.
View the Controller Image Upgrading Process
After confirming the Controller image upgrade, you can monitor the progress through one of the following methods:

Click View Progress on the Upgrade Controller Image card.

Click the Tasks icon in the top-right menu. Then click Show All Tasks to display all tasks.

Click Migrate Controller to check the status.
Verify the Controller Image Upgrade
To verify the Controller Image Upgrade status:

Click the Tasks icon from the top-right menu. Then click Show All Tasks to display all tasks.

Click Migrate Controller.

Look for the Status field.

If the Status displays "Completed", it indicates that the Controller Image upgrade has been successfully completed.

If the Update shows any other status, it means that your Controller Image upgrade has failed.
