This section discusses deleting a deployed CoPilot instance.
Deleting an Existing CoPilot Instance
You may need to delete (terminate) an existing CoPilot instance. For example,
after you
migrate CoPilot data
to a new CoPilot instance, it is recommended that you delete the old instance.
If you deployed your CoPilot by using Terraform scripts or from the CSP
marketplace, you must manually delete the CoPilot instance from the cloud
provider environment.
When deleting the CoPilot from the cloud provider environment, delete associated
cloud resources:
- EIP (if applicable)
- Access/security groups
- Disks/Volumes
- VM Instance
If you deployed your CoPilot from the Controller user interface, you can delete
the last-deployed CoPilot instance via the Controller user interface as
described in the next section.
Do not use that option if you want to delete an old (source) CoPilot instance
after deploying a new (destination) CoPilot instance as that option will delete
your last-deployed new instance. You must manually remove your old (source)
CoPilot instance after your new instance is functional.
Deleting a CoPilot Instance Deployed from Controller
If you deployed your CoPilot from the Controller user interface, you can delete
the last-deployed CoPilot by using the Delete Deployed CoPilot Instance
option in Aviatrix Controller > Settings > CoPilot.
This method of deleting CoPilot is commonly used immediately after deployment
when the instance was accidentally deployed into the wrong VPC.
Do not use this option if you want to delete an old (source) CoPilot instance
after deploying a new (destination) CoPilot instance from the Controller as this
option will delete your last-deployed new instance. You must manually remove
your old (source) CoPilot instance after your new instance is functional.
