# Creating Azure VNet Peering Connection

> The Aviatrix Controller integrates native Azure Virtual network peering to create a peering connection between two VNets to enable traffic flow between the VNets privately.

The Aviatrix Controller integrates native Azure
[Virtual network peering](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-network/virtual-network-peering-overview)
to create a peering connection between two VNets to enable traffic flow between
the VNets privately.

* A peering connection can be created between VNets within the same Azure region
  (virtual network peering) or across Azure regions (global virtual network
  peering), where it is available.

* A peering connection can be created between VNets in the same Azure
  subscription or in different Azure subscriptions, as long as both
  subscriptions are onboarded in Aviatrix Controller.

## Creating an Azure VNet Peering Connection

To create an Azure VNet Peering connection:

1. In CoPilot, navigate to **Networking** > **Connectivity** > **Native
   Peering** tab, and click **+ Native Peering**.

2. For **Cloud** type, select **Azure**, you can use the dropdown menu to select
   **Global**, **GovCloud**, or **China**.

3. From the **VPC/VNet 1** dropdown menu, select the VNet to peer.

   The VNets are listed in the format *VNet\_Name*(*Resource\_ID*) and for each
   VNet, the *cloud account name* and *cloud region* are also shown.

   <Tip>
     To locate or display VPCs in the list by a specific cloud account name or
     cloud region, type the cloud account name or cloud region in the VPC/VNet
     list field.

4. From the **VPC/VNet 2** dropdown menu, select another VNet to peer with.

5. Click **Save**.

The new Azure VNet Peering connection appears in the table. The name for the
peering connection is auto-generated by CoPilot. You can use the filter to
display additional connection settings.

You can click the peering connection name to display VNet details. The details
for VNet 1 and VNet 2 are shown in their respective columns.

## Deleting an Azure VNet Peering Connection

To delete an Azure VNet peering connection:

1. In CoPilot, navigate to **Networking** > **Connectivity** > **Native
   Peering** tab.
2. In the table, locate the connection you want to delete and click the Delete
   icon on the right side of its row.
3. To delete the peering connection, click **Delete** to delete the selected
   peering connection.

The table shows the updated list of active VPC peering connections.

<Note>
  To delete native peering of an HPE connection, delete the gateway attachment.
