# Edit a Group

Before you modify a SmartGroup or ExternalGroup, note that updates are pushed
automatically to any configurations that use the Group.

<Note>
  Aviatrix PaaS considers only the current state of a SmartGroup in a
  configuration that uses it.

To modify a Group:

1. In Aviatrix PaaS, go to *Groups > SmartGroups* or *Groups > ExternalGroups*.
2. In the table, locate the Group you want to modify and click its Edit

3. In the Edit SmartGroup or Edit ExternalGroup dialog, make your desired
   changes.
4. Click *Save*. Group changes are saved and pushed automatically to any
   configuration that uses the SmartGroup.
