# Delete a Group

<Note>
  Before you delete a SmartGroup or ExternalGroup, you must disassociate it from
  all Distributed Cloud Firewall (DCF) rules that use it. You can do this by
  [editing the rule](/docs/cloud/security/dcf/dcf-rule-edit) and updating or
  removing the SmartGroup or ExternalGroup from the Source Groups field.

To delete a Group:

1. In Aviatrix PaaS, go to *Groups > SmartGroups* or *Groups > ExternalGroups*.
2. Locate the Group you want to delete in the table.
3. Click the Delete icon next to the Group.
4. Click *Delete* to confirm the deletion of the selected Group.
